I listened to some of Sum 41's new cd "Chuck" on MTV's The Leak. And I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. They have really matured and grown in the past few years. They even have guitar solos, and there is a noticeable metal influence. Pretty cool for a pop-punk band that used to considered bland radio rock.
We're All to Blame is their single, and it's not their best song, but still good. Check out "The Bitter End" and "88."

Sum 41 isn't nomally my cup of tea. Despite the fact they're from a town just a little East of where I live, I couldn't embrace their popified sound and silly style.
Having said all that, I actually like this tune. Is it me or are they getting heavier? It's a welcome change. |

yeah, they are definately getting heavier. their old CD "All Killer No Filler" sucked, but "Does This Look Infected?" was a lot better.
They are still pop-punk, but there's a difference between them and most other pop-punk bands. "The Bitter End" is a great song and it shows their metal influence. |

Yeah, I really really like the new single too. They seem to be getting more mature, musically. Good stuff and check out this site: http://www.sumpieces.com/ |
