Listen for the bit this song steals from Tears For Fears' Head Over Heals.
It's still a good tune though. |

steals? Its called sampling ... musicians do it all the time, just like covering an older song |

Sampling is very different. Public Enemy would sample all the time - it's taking a piece of music from another tune and looping it. James Brown, Stevie Wonder, whatever...it's all good.
When you bum a riff and don't give credit, it's called stealing. Subconsciously perhaps, but theivery nonetheless.
I'm a Foo Fighters fan, don't get me wrong, but this tune as some Tears For Fears in it! |

There is a very, very vague resemblence to Tears For Fears' "Head Over Heels", but it is far from stealing.. I don't even think it can be classified as sampling. I would simply write the resemblence off as a fluke, personally. |

What this tune does to "Head Over Heels" is nothing compared to what the new Jet tune, "Rollover DJ", does to BTO's "Takin' Care Of Business".
Now that's stealing. Am I right? |

If my memory serves me correctly, it's from a DVD entitled "Low/Times Like These". I believe they called it a DVD/EP. It's a great version, better than the electric.
Fact of the Day: Times Like These was written on an acoustic guitar. |
