Sweet tune, even if it does start like Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home" before melting into Beatles/Oasis territory.

No way.
As much as "Look What You've Done" sounds like the Beatles (and Lord does it ever), it was written by Nic Cester of Jet. |

This song is a complete rip off of The Beatles, more specifically the song "Let It Be". You can sing both songs simultaneously. Then: "Look, what you've done, you've made a fool of everyone", is identical to Guns n' Roses' "Don't Cry" song. There is zero originality in this song and I give NO credit to Jet as songwriters. They suck! |

I think they definitely sound like the Beatles, but, being a complete Beatle freak myself since I was about 3, I dig the song. Even the line "You've made a fool of everyone" is the second line of the song "Sexy Sadie" on the white album. I never even heard of these guys until about a week ago. This dude probably likes the Beatles, so he wrote the song and now he's on TV making a ton of cash. |

im a huge beatles fan. i heard this song and i thought it sounded just like them. honestly, i thought it was a cover of a song i hadnt heard. but the line was so familiar.. i guess thats why.
they may have ripped the beatles off in a way, but i like the song. it was probably just very inspired by a few different songs. but it does sound a lot like let it be. honestly, id be mad if i was paul. |

Jet ripped them off. |

I agree that I thought of "let it be" as soon as i heard the song, and maybe it is a ripoff, but it has more emotion in it than any of the songs mentioned above. I salute jet even if it is a ripoff. |

Sounds like the Beatles, but also reminds me of Ben Folds Five. Even if they did copy it off someone, it's not a horrible song. |

all of you have failed to realize that the song by jet is actually a sample from the song 'Imagine' by John Lennon, during his solo career. Listen to both songs, you will definately hear the parallel |

"JET" a McCartney song.
Their first video looked like the cover of Revolver.
Now, (Look what you've done) Imagine mixed with Beatles songs.
Of course they are Beatles fans and this song sounds just like the Beatles.
As a beatles fan myself, I like it.
Let's face it, we aren't going to here anything new from the beatles themselves unless they pull some more recording tricks out of their butts. |

My 14 yr. old had me listen to this song tonight. He told me it sounded like the Beatles and I must admit the boy was right!
I think it will be interesting to see how this band fares in today's music market.
The Beatles changed the direction of music in the 60"s. Will bringing the style back have an effect on where music is going today? Personally I hope so. But then again...I'm just an old Beatles fan!

Ok here it is!
The Jet song "Look what you've done" is is Musically a direct rip off if John Lennon's "Imagine". That's where they stole most of the Chord Progression and Tempo, Some of the lyrics are taken from "Sexy Sadie".
I do have to say when I first heard this song, I thought "WOW this is close", and did not like it, Then I bought the album to hear the rest. It is a really good Rock and Roll record for todays market. Kids don't care about 60's bands right now. Sonically it doesn't measure up to something like Green Day riping off their own Dookie record (boy those drums sound good), But Jet stole lots of ideas from tons of bands. They wear their infuences on ther sleeves. It doesn't seem to bother me as much as I thought it would. I guess it just reminds me of where it came from. Hopefully on their next record they can creat something new, but I doubt it.
Good luck to Jet in their short success. No one lasts like they used to

I believe this song is a rip off of several Beatles songs. The bass line is played in exactly the same style as McCartney played. The vocals kind of meander between Lennon and McCartney-esque, and even the drums at points remind me of the exact drum fill played on A Day In The Life. |

I have mixed feelings about it. It's a shame that more people aren't familiar with "Sexy Sadie" in the first place. I think Oasis did a much better job of covering the Beatles without actually covering them.
I like the melody because I like the Beatles. But I could've written a song like "Look What You've Done" - it took little creativity on their part. |
