Hi Melanie. Here's all you need to know in a nutshell.
SLS is "released" twice a year....just before Canada Day (July 1) and just before Christmas.
SLS is the best 80 minutes of tunes from the previous six months.
Valid submissions are posted on the home page while "ineligible" tunes are filed here.
Before submitting a tune, make sure it's appropriate for this type of "compilation" (no Justin Timberlake or Michael Bolton) and make sure it hasn't already been submitted. You can view previous SLS songlists by clicking the numbered tabs above and you can see tunes that were left on the cutting room floor by clicking "CRF".
I'm often asked who finally chooses the final 80 minutes for each SLS. My cool answer is the SLS committee. The real answer is Mark and I.
